People often make “sunset plans” which the rest of their day revolves around. So to make it easy on you, we’ve rounded up the best Koh Phangan sunset spots so you can enjoy the best time of day with ease!
Amsterdam Bar: Most Popular Koh Phangan Sunset Spot
We’ll start with one of the most famous on Koh Phangan: Amsterdam Bar. Not only does this bar have unobstructed views of Koh Phangan’s sunsets, but they’ve got plenty of space to lounge and even a pool to take a dip in. This two-tiered bar has traditional Thai floor cushions to kick back on and Amsterdam-reminiscent treats to get you in the mood. This one is sure to get busy with DJs often making appearances, so grab a spot early!

Bluerama: Hilltop Infinity Pool on Koh Phangan
If you’re feeling boujee, head to Bluerama. It’s hard to beat this hilltop, salt water infinity pool overlooking the ocean. DJs play here regularly and the cocktails are fantastic — the perfect place to get your night started. Bluerama also offers accommodation and has a restaurant with glass walls lining the same epic panoramic view as the pool.

Top Rock: Chill Koh Phangan Sunset Bar
If you’re looking for a more mellow spot to catch sunset, head to Top Rock. Located between Amsterdam Bar and Bluerama, and with the same elevated views, is this cozy spot. This bar is the perfect place to come if you’re wanting to just kickback with a beer and good company. Be prepared to climb a ton of steps — this isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s def worth it for the view!

Two Rocks: Most Unique Sunset Spot on Koh Phangan
Two Rocks might not have the expansive aerial views as the last three bars, but there’s definitely something special about this place. Cozy up on a hammock or a floor cushion while listening to reggae jams. This simplistic beach hut is located directly on the water so it offers stunning views of the sunset and sea.

Freeway: Reggae Sunset Spot on Koh Phangan
This hippie-reggae spot is located right on the beach, so you can drink a beer with your feet in the water. Eclectically decorated, Freeway also has a shop selling secondhand vintage items and handmade jewelery, along with a tattoo parlour for that coveted souvenir. DJs or live music is also played here regularly to start your evening off right!

Three Sixty Bar: Panoramic Views on Koh Phangan
As the name suggests, this bar offers panoramic views of Mae Haad Beach and beyond atop a hill on the northern side of the island. This spacious bar has plenty of seating and lounge space where you can sunbathe on the deck or chill under a little personal hut. Make sure you’re careful on the drive up, as it’s on a slightly sketchy, steep road!

Secret Mountain: Not-so-secret Sunset View on Koh Phangan
This hilltop bar has expansive views of the lush greenery and coast of Koh Phangan, and even Koh Samui and Angthong! Though it’s hardly a “secret”, this bar is more on the mellow side and a great place to relax with a drink. This little oasis also has a pool to use if the weather’s heating up, for just 50 baht. If you really want to make the view rewarding, hike up the last [sketchy] bit of the road 10 minutes to get a workout in and earn that Chang at the top!

Zen Beach: Sunset Hippie Vibes on Koh Phangan
If you’re looking for some hippie vibes, look no further than Zen Beach. Get in on some dancing, drum circling, acro yoga-ing, juggling, and general bohemian shenanigans while also watching an epic Koh Phangan sunset. Bring a blanket to sit on and be sure to wear your swimsuit so you can dive into the warm water as it changes colors.

La Casa Tropicana: Restaurant with a Sunset View on Koh Phangan
Not only is La Casa Tropicana great for sunset, but you can also partake in some water sports, get work done at their co-working space, eat delicious Mexican food at their restaurant, and order some delectable cocktails at the bar. They also hold numerous events including Latin Dance Night, art workshops, and yoga classes (depending on the season). Inquire in house, as they also have regular promos like free SUP or co-working on certain days of the week. This al fresco spot has tables and cabanas to dine at and plenty of lounge space right on the water to enjoy drinks.

Orion Healing Centre: Sunset Spots for the Yogis on Koh Phangan
For those looking for a more peaceful setting, Orion Healing not only provides gorgeous sunset views, but a multitude of classes and workshops. Orion offers a variety of yoga, meditation, breathwork, healing, and more holistic classes and courses for all levels. Additionally, they even have accommodation, a cafe, cooking classes, detox programs, reiki courses, and an assortment of events where you can meet other likeminded people. The yoga shala sits right on the water so you have lovely views over the water during your class. There’s also a plethora of lounge space on the property to watch sunset, or you can get that typical (yet loved) swing pic as the sun goes down.
