Mad Monkey Hostels Philippines is expanding, with new hostel launches this 2018. We are looking for a Receptionist to help ensure high standards of customer service, smooth operation of room and travel management, and overall assistance to our guests, for our new location in Cebu City.
We are looking for a friendly, positive minded and motivated individual who wants to become a part of the Mad Monkey family, somebody that wants to be a part of an exciting journey of growth and expansion, and somebody we can share future success with.
This position will report to the Front Office Manager.

Receptionist Role

Customer Service: Greet customers, make them feel welcome and a part of the Mad Monkey family. Help customers with any questions, complaints, or wishes they may have concerning their travels, rooms, F&B, activities, tours. Offer friendly support to try to ensure they have a problem free stay.
Account & EPOS Reconciliation: Reconcile the daily point of sale accounts, ensuring high standards and double checking every number for correctness. Be alert and aware of any inconsistencies and report them to management.
Rooms & Booking management: Ensure smooth operations of the rooms department, coordinating efficiently with housekeeping, managing customer bookings to maximize occupancy, and relaying any maintenance or malfunction issues to management.

Receptionist Internal Working Relationships 

You will be working directly with all departments of the hostel, helping to coordinate wherever necessary. The main working relationships are Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Management.

Receptionist Responsibilities

  • Receive Mad Monkey guests to the hotel by greeting them warmly, and attending to their inquiries and also answer inquirers over the phone.
  • Inform Mad Monkey guests of the services, tours and accommodation rates in the hotel, make reservations for guests according to their needs, and also make sure that all reservations canceled are effected immediately to avoid confusion.
  • Build good relationship and rapport with  Mad Monkey guests to make them feel comfortable and address any complaints they might have in a very courteous manner to protect the image of the hotel.
  • Keep clear and comprehensive records of guest room bookings and all billings for accountability and future reference.
  • Maintain orderliness at the front desk by arranging documents accordingly and keeping the front desk area clean at all times to avoid rowdiness.
  • Attend to all routes of room bookings, such as online, phone, and in person, to ensure that reservations are not left hanging but attended to promptly to keep the hotel business running
  • Report issues of maintenance and malfunctioning appliances to the manager for quick repair in order to ensure guests comfort and satisfaction.

Receptionist Qualifications

  • Filipino National
  • Good working capability in the English language
  • Exhibit excellent knowledge of customer service
  • Must be disciplined and organized
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good crisis management skills
  • Calm and relaxed way of dealing with customers


Receptionist Progression Path 

Depending on your personal progress, aspirations, commitment, attitude, and more, there are various paths of progression available. These can be vertical, moving up to management / supervisory roles, such as head receptionist or even assistant front office manager. Additionally, there will be opportunities that will arise with our continued expansion.
